As Hurricane Ida charged across southeast Louisiana, some Baton Rouge area schools are closing campuses or going online-only.

Virtually all schools were closed Monday, but some were also announcing closures for later in the week.

East Baton Rouge

Thrive Academy is shifting to virtual-only Monday and Tuesday depending on the severity of the weather.

All Catholic schools in the Diocese of Baton Rouge will be closed Tuesday, and the situation will be assessed on a daily basis. 

The Catholic Life Center located on South Acadian Thruway will be closed until Sept. 7. 

Catholic Charities, which is located on the same campus as the Catholic Life Center, will be open Tuesday to continue its disaster assistance outreach. 

Ascension Parish

Ascension Parish public schools are closed Monday and Tuesday.

Livingston Parish

Livingston Parish public schools are closed Monday and Tuesday. 

East Feliciana Parish

East Feliciana public schools are closed Monday and Tuesday. 

West Feliciana Parish

West Feliciana Parish public schools are closed Monday and Tuesday.

Assumption Parish

Colleges & Universities

  • LSU will remain closed through Tuesday
  • Southern University will remain closed through Tuesday.

Baton Rouge Airport

Sunday flights are canceled. So are Monday flights, though some late evening arrivals may be allowed, subject to weather.
