Jean-Victor K. Bonnaig has joined North Oaks Imaging Associates in Hammond in the practice of musculoskeletal imaging, a subspecialty of diagnostic radiology.
Musculoskeletal radiologists like Bonnaig are trained to diagnose injuries and medical conditions affecting bones, joints and associated soft tissues.
Bonnaig comes to North Oaks from private practice in Florida, where he has provided musculoskeletal and general radiology coverage for the past two years to health care facilities statewide.
Bonnaig earned his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. He completed an internship in general surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, where he also was an academic appointee at Harvard Medical School as a clinical fellow in surgery. After completing a diagnostic radiology residency through Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Bonnaig completed a musculoskeletal imaging and intervention fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, where he trained under the direct supervision of radiology consultants for the National Football League, National Hockey League and collegiate athletes.
