More than 600 power customers were without service around Acadiana at mid-afternoon Sunday, but not all of the problems were hurricane related.
Some 500 customers in Acadia Parish, southwest of Eunice, lost power because of a damaged feeder line. SLEMCO spokeswoman Mary Laurent said the problem was not storm related, and crews were on the scene.
In northwestern St. Martin Parish, 127 customers were without power. Laurent said the cause was likely due to high winds related to the storm.
A single home near Arnaudville lost power, but Laurent said that occurred when a homeowner cut a branch that fell on a line.
Entergy customers lost power at a handful of homes in Lafayette — perhaps 10 — and a small number southwest of Opelousas.
In Lafayette, LUS reported about nine customers lost power off Johnston Street, a few blocks north of Camellia.
