In the wake of Hurricane Ida, NOLAReady texted an alert at 6:27 a.m. Monday that 911 was "experiencing technical difficulties," suggesting that people should go to the nearest fire station or approach a nearby officer instead of calling the number.
Another text from NOLAReady at 9:31 a.m. said that 911 was out, along with power, and roads were covered in debris, trees and power lines, urging people to stay indoors. By around 2 p.m., 911 was fully operational again, according to the city.

More than 377,000 Entergy customers are out of power in both Orleans and Jefferson Parishes, with predictions of outages to last "days or longer." Residents are suggested to use 311 for non-emergencies.
